Partnership Higher Education Resources for Sustainable Development.
As the U.S. node of a 192-nation network, The U.S. Partnership
for Education for Sustainable Development serves to convene,
catalyze and promote activities that leverage the existence
of the UN
Decade of Education and increase America's awareness of
sustainability challenges and solutions. Over 300 organizations
are involved with the Partnership helping to advance its vision
of sustainable development fully integrated into education and
learning in the United Sates. Faith organizations, youth and
community groups, businesses, government agencies, K-12 and
higher education institutions use their participation in the
Partnership to deepen the effectiveness of their educational
activities.
Association
for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education
is a member organization of colleges and universities working
to advance sustainability in higher education. The organization
works in partnership with businesses, nonprofit organizations
and government agencies that support its mission: to promote
sustainability in all sectors of higher education - from governance
and operations to curriculum and outreach - through education,
communication, research and professional development.
American Council on Renewable Energy Higher
Education Committee provides forums, information,
tools, and other resources to increase use of renewable energy
on college and university campuses; develop curricula and resources
for multi-disciplinary education of current and future generations;
and increase funding for Higher-Education-based research and
development on renewable energy.
The
Campus Climate Challenge unites 43 organizations
working with over 535 local groups in 56 states and provinces.
The Challenge leverages the power of young people to organize
on college campuses and high schools across Canada and the U.S.
to win 100% Clean Energy policies at their schools. The Challenge
is growing a generation-wide movement to stop global warming,
by reducing the pollution from our high schools and colleges
down to zero, and leading our society to a clean energy future.
Sustainable
Endowments Institute publishes the annual College
Sustainability Report Card and
engages in research and education to advance sustainability
in campus operations and endowment practices.
National
Wildlife Federation's Campus Ecology Program
works with colleges and universities to help them confront global
warming through greener practices and by cultivating long-term
leaders. We work with faculty, administrators, and students
to development campus action plans that will reduce carbon emissions
by approximately 2% each year.
The
Sustainable Living Roadshow (SLR) is a caravan
of educators, entertainers and activists who tour the country
in a fleet of renewable fuel vehicles to empower communities
and individuals to utilize sustainable living strategies for
a healthier planet. Visiting university campuses and community
festivals across the United States, the caravan sets up off-the-grid
eco-carnivals with experiential learning villages, featuring
workshops, speakers and entertainment.

and strengthening a community of new leaders who use business
to improve the world. The organization offers a portfolio of
programs to educate, equip, and inspire more than 10,000 members
to make a tangible difference in their universities, organizations,
